Bournemouth vs Sunderland

Both teams come into this game after playing midweek in Europe, the first time these games start to pile up.
Bournemouth won comfortably midweek and after a difficult start to their campaign it is what they would’ve been hoping for.
Sunderland will have mixed feelings on the start to their season.
They’ve had great performances against Manchester City and Arsenal, not quite coming out on top in these. Two wins from two in their Europa League campaign is a good way to start but it is the rest of the league games where they have struggled somewhat with only four points so far.
I do think it is the away side that will take their second win in the Premier League.
The possible return of Brian Brobbey will be a massive boost for the side from the northeast and mixed with the quality of Enzo Le Fee will see Bournemouth’s league struggles to continue.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

Brighton welcome rivals Crystal Palace to the Amex looking to continue their impressive start. With 18 goals in six league matches, the Seagulls have shown plenty of attacking quality, while their recent victories over Arsenal and Sunderland both came with clean sheets.

Palace’s 3–1 win over Nottingham Forest offered encouragement, but they followed it with a European defeat at Lyon and remain without suspended defender Axel Disasi.

Although derby matches can be unpredictable, Brighton’s attacking confidence should give them the advantage. I expect the hosts to control proceedings, exploit Palace’s defensive weaknesses and secure a convincing victory.

Leeds United vs Manchester United

Leeds came off second-best away at Arsenal last week but will still feel confident heading into this game.
Their start to the season has been impressive; even more impressive is their home record – losing at Elland Road only five times since the start of last season.
Manchester United have taken a real downturn at the start of this season and this continued midweek with their loss to Atletico Madrid as they now find themselves five games without a win.
The story that has grabbed headlines in relation to Man United is Lisandro Martinez’s interview after this game; the defender called out the higher-ups at the club, saying: “I expect more investment. 100%, I expect more from our technical director.”
This is in response to the lack of activity from Man U in the summer window, failing to address their low numbers at striker and left back.
The culmination of this will be a comfortable Leeds win at home, with another physical home performance being too much for Manchester United to handle.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Forest will be very disappointed with how last week went, losing 3-1 to Crystal Palace despite probably being the better team for most of the game and especially in the first half.
They paid the price for their lack of clinical finishing but could take a few positives from this performance, though it could knock confidence.
It doesn’t get any easier away from home this week, Arsenal have well and truly pulled themselves back from their loss against Brighton before the break.
A win against an in-form Leeds and an assured 3-0 midweek in the Champions League will fill the Gunners with confidence ahead of this game.
I think the partnership of Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes will be a starring factor in this game with the midfielders complimenting each other almost perfectly.
The Brazilian has already scored twice after his summer transfer and I think he will add to this total on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City

Spurs are still in search of their first league win of the campaign, they currently sit in 17th with only three goals scored.
As easy as it is to overlook them purely because of the results some of the performances have been encouraging.
Last week at Old Trafford they dominated for most of the game and were actually quite unlucky to just come away with a draw.
Last Monday was a dream for Coventry, an emphatic win at home in the Premier League and with another big game on Monday Night Football will be hoping beyond hope for a repeat.
The incredibly poor home record for Spurs I think will continue, winning only five times in the league there since the start of 2025 (that’s right 654 days!)
