Everton vs Chelsea

Everton will be disappointed with their performance last week against Hull, some defensive mistakes had them settle for a draw despite some good attacking movement, but they kept their unbeaten streak alive.
Barry did miss a great opportunity but slightly redeemed himself with a goal, the positions the Frenchman gets himself in are top class and the finishing will become more consistent soon, I believe and I do think he will score again this weekend.
Chelsea will come into this game brimming with confidence after a five-goal performance last week against Bournemouth.
Their attackers once again stole the show, with a surprisingly good showing from Jordan Henderson, and while I don’t think he will have quite as good a game as that again I do think the London side will get the better of Everton in this one.

Brentford vs Liverpool

Brentford

Liverpool will be so disappointed with how their game at Anfield went, they were well in the game and probably the better team before a soft second yellow saw Gravenberch off the pitch.
There will be a lot of question marks around injuries, particularly in midfield with Dominic Szoboszlai picking up an injury leaving them very short on numbers.
Another massive thing is the form of Florian Wirtz – what can be said that hasn’t been said already? He is just so uninspiring whenever he picks up the ball and I don’t really see this coming to an end; it almost seems like it is time for Liverpool to cut their losses which is an insane statement to make for a player with his price tag.
With the selection issues as well as the form Brentford are in I think it’ll be another difficult afternoon for Liverpool and Brentford will find themselves comfortable winners at home.

Fulham vs Hull City

Fulham once again disappointed in their last game, allowing Ipswich to make an extremely late comeback with goals in the 88th and 92nd minute.
This leaves them with just two league points, bottom of the table and they also don’t really have any good performances to try and lift the mood.
I think Josh King has been a slightly bright spark this campaign, already scoring twice and probably being their biggest attacking threat but it has been very disappointing otherwise
Hull capitalised on some defensive errors from Everton last time out at home and continue to build on their impressive start to the season, hoping for another positive result this time.
I think the struggling start to the season for Fulham will continue and Hull will be back to winning ways, hoping to get their season back on track.
The Fulham fullbacks could struggle against the wingers of Hull, particularly Mohamed Belloumi who has been involved in five of Hull’s eight goals this season.

Manchester City vs Ipswich Town

Last week’s result against Liverpool was for lack of a better word… strange.
City undoubtedly played incredibly well and had some incredible talent on display but with all of the charges hanging over their heads, will any of it really matter in the end?
One thing is for sure and that is this current team is brimming with quality, regardless of how they got it, and their perfect record so far is reflective of this.
They did have a tough game midweek against PSG, but I don’t think they were as poor as the scoreline suggests. The first 30 minutes were dominated by the French team but Man City did have their chances in the game and if they were more clinical could well have won the game.
Ipswich grabbed a victory very late on last time at home, this being their third win of the season already.
They only notched four wins in their last league campaign and they will be feeling a lot better about their survival hopes this time around.
I do think this ‘us against the world’ mentality will help the performances of this City team and with the form they’re in it is difficult to see a way they don’t win and continue their vein of good form.

Newcastle United vs Aston Villa

It was an abysmal result for Newcastle last time away in Coventry, a 4-1 loss to a Coventry City side who only scored one goal before it was poor in every sense of the word.
They did have some players coming back from injury but their attacking play, particularly when in front of goal was toothless.
Aston Villa have been finding their feet after a tough start to the season.
Four wins in their last five games, scoring two or more in all of these is a sign of a side that is starting to gel after some big losses during the summer.
The new attacking reinforcements in Johan Manzambi and Nicolas Jackson have impacted the team immediately but it is John McGinn, who is in his ninth season at the club, who has been chipping in with goals and assists in recent matches and I think that will continue.
It is normally a high-scoring game between these two and that will continue on Saturday, with Villa making the most of Newcastle’s defensive issues. Newcastle will score but it will not nearly be enough on the afternoon.
